Ellwood House is a perfect base for a self-catering family holiday in the Lake District National Park.
The cottage provides all the modern convenience you expect yet with a rustic charm of former times; Freeview TV in living room, DVD player & CD player/radio, microwave oven, fridge & freezer, cast iron wood burning stove, utility room with washer & dryer, etc.
An excellent selection of books, DVD’s, maps/guides and games are supplied.
Ground Floor:
- Front door opens into a small hallway with solid oak flooring.
- This leads into the large living/dining room, with solid oak flooring, wood burning stove set in local lakeland stone hearth, comfy sofa and chairs, TV, DVD and CD player/radio. Views over the lane at the front of the cottage. There is a large dining table and chairs for 8 people.
- The internal hallway leads to the kitchen and upstairs.
- The fully equipped kitchen with recessed lighting, oven and hob, overhead extractor fan, fridge, microwave oven, cafetiere and iron.
- Modern bathroom with large stylish bath and overhead power shower, sink, heated towel rail and recessed lighting.
- The hallway leads up to the bedroom landing.
- Separate Utility Room with washing machine, tumble drier and freezer. Secure storage for outdoor equipment and bikes. Drying rack.
Upstairs:
Stairs from the internal hall lead up to 3 bedrooms
(1 double room, 1 twin room and 1 bunk bed room).
- The Master bedroom is spacious, a double bed, large fitted wardrobe, bedside tables. Views to the front of the cottage.
- Bedroom Two is also roomy and has twin beds, together with a wardrobe and tall chest of drawers. Views over the front of the cottage.
- Bedroom Three is a room with large bunk beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers - views over the garden, over open fields and up to the fells.
Outside:
There is a large secluded flower garden and lawn, together with patio and garden furniture, at the rear of the house with the pathway leading to the large private parking area for up to 4 cars. A barbeque is also available.
The front of the house is straight onto a very quiet lane.
Views from the back of the house are over the garden and undulating fields surrounding Caldbeck.
Gill Beck flows alongside the field below the rear garden of the cottage.
At the end of the garden views are up to the Caldbeck Fells of High Pike and Carrock Fell.
200m from the cottage tennis courts can be booked and a football pitch is set nearby in playing fields. |
